About cheese

The cheese type of ackee, also called hard, is one of two types recognized in Jamaica, along with butter (soft). Ackee is indigenous to the forests of the Ivory Coast and Gold Coast of West tropical Africa. Fruit from the ackee tree, including the cheese type, is used to make ackee and saltfish, Jamaica's national dish.
