About Ozark Gold
Ozark Gold was released by the Missouri Agricultural Experiment Station in 1970, from a cross of Golden Delicious and H 1291 (Red Delicious x Conrad). It is a Golden Delicious type that ripens earlier, is firmer, and shows less russeting, with a unique spicy flavor. Recommended for Georgia growing zones 1, 2, and 3, it matures in early August into a yellow, russet-free apple of excellent quality, used for cider, cooking, sauces, desserts, pies, and fresh eating.
