About Yates
Yates is an old Southern heirloom apple dating back to the 1800s, and has been sold continuously by southern nurseries for over 130 years. It is a small, dark red, non-spur apple recommended for Georgia growing zones 1 through 4, ripening late in the fall (late October) into juicy, mellow, sub-acid fruit that is considered the best keeper among Georgia apple varieties.
