Astra Blue

Astra Blue is a compact balloon flower in the Astra series, sold for pots, patios and garden planting. Muller Seeds lists it as F1 with an upright habit and large star-shaped blooms. In Chicago Botanic Garden's 2001-2005 northern-garden trial, plants labeled Astra Blue had lavender-blue flowers and a compact habit, remaining mostly upright during bloom but sometimes relaxing by September. Trial plants grew taller than published expectations, so their size should not be treated as a fixed cultivar specification. The trial does not establish Florida performance.
