Fairy Snow

Fairy Snow is a white-flowered balloon flower placed by the RHS in the Apoyama Group of Platycodon grandiflorus. Chicago Botanic Garden's 2001-2005 trial recorded blue-veined or lavender-tinged flowers. The trial plants grew taller than expected and received a fair rating; three plants were lost over the winter of 2002-2003. These observations came from a full-sun northern garden trial, so dwarf size and winter survival should not be assumed in every setting.
