About Silverstripe

Silverstripe is an ornamental clumping bamboo (Bambusa) whose green culms, up to about 1.5 inches thick, are randomly striped with white to silver, sometimes cream at the base, and even the narrow leaves may show white variegation. New shoots can emerge striped yellow and green before maturing. A vigorous non-invasive clumper reaching roughly 15 to 25 feet, it needs no root barrier and makes a fine privacy screen or specimen. Container growing tends to intensify the variegation.
