Vittata

Vittata, or painted bamboo, is a bold tropical clumping bamboo (Bambusa) prized for glossy golden-yellow culms boldly marked with irregular, barcode-like green vertical stripes that vary from cane to cane. Broad green leaves clothe its open, arching clumps, and full sun deepens the yellow color. A tender bamboo best in frost-free climates around USDA zones 9 to 11, it can reach 30 to 40 feet and roots readily from culm cuttings. Give it ample room for its large, showy clumps.
