About Orinoco
Orinoco, sometimes called Burro banana, is a hardy, cold-tolerant banana popular in Florida and other subtropical regions. The thick, angular fruit can be cooked like a plantain when green or eaten fresh with a mild, slightly tangy flavor when fully ripe, making it dual-purpose. The sturdy, wind-resistant plants tolerate cooler conditions than most bananas.
