About Everleaf Emerald Towers
Everleaf Emerald Towers belongs to PanAmerican Seed's Everleaf line, whose whole breeding premise is delayed flowering: the plant holds off bolting for roughly 10 to 12 weeks longer than a standard basil, which converts the short pesto season into most of a summer. Emerald Towers is the tall, columnar member of that line, building a narrow tower of densely stacked leaf on very short internodes instead of a spreading bush. Because the leaves are packed so tightly along the stem, a single plant yields far more than its footprint suggests, which is why it turns up in hydroponic and container production as well as field rows. The flavour is conventional Genovese, so nothing is sacrificed in exchange for the extended harvest. It suits a gardener who wants one long-cropping basil in a narrow space rather than several successional sowings.
