About Red Rubin

Red Rubin is an improved purple basil selected from Dark Opal for more uniform, deep purple-red foliage and better resistance to green reversion. It carries a classic sweet basil flavor with a mild spicy note and is grown both as a culinary herb and for the rich color it lends to vinegars, oils, and garnishes. An open-pollinated sweet-basil type, it grows upright and responds well to regular pinching.
