About Robuschka
Robuschka is a biodynamically bred open-pollinated beetroot from Germany, developed by Ulrike Behrendt at Oldendorfer Saatzucht in Niedersachsen and distributed by Bingenheimer Saatgut under the Kultursaat/Demeter breeding programme — meaning it was selected entirely under organic conditions rather than adapted to them afterwards. Its calling card is taste: the breeder's description settles on a pleasant fruity sweetness, and North American sellers including the Experimental Farm Network repeat that fruit-like flavour as the reason to grow it instead of a commodity hybrid. Bingenheimer pairs the flavour with vigour, strong leaf and high yield potential, and rates it a very good keeper. It is offered as a general-purpose beet, intended equally for fresh use, storage and processing, and the uniform dark flesh makes it a common juicing choice. Seed is available in precision-calibrated form for growers who need accurate stand establishment.
