About Prime-Ark Freedom

Prime-Ark Freedom is the world's first commercial thornless primocane-fruiting blackberry, released by the University of Arkansas in 2013 and covered by US Plant Patent #26990 or other patents. Plants are vigorous with strong, thick canes. Fruit ripens from late April to early June and is very large, elongated, and attractive; although it can fruit in both fall and spring, high yields are expected only in spring. It is recommended for medium- to large-scale commercial production for its high yields, earliness, large fruit size, and good fruit quality, though cane management is more laborious than with floricane-fruiting cultivars because the canes are vigorous.
