Tropical Sunset

'Tropical Sunset' is a custom blend that Renee's Garden assembles from long-blooming California poppies chosen for warm, saturated sunset tones. The range runs to rich deep red, warm carmine-rose, ruffled flame, and tangerine bicolors, with an occasional vanilla-white turning up in a stand. Flower form varies within the mix as well as colour: some blossoms are plain satiny singles, others are semi-double, and many carry pleated rather than flat petals, so a planting has texture variation built into it. Of the Renee's poppy blends this is the warmest and most intense, aimed at gardeners who want the wild-poppy look amplified rather than softened toward pastels. Because it is a mix, it will not deliver a uniform colour block, and it should not be chosen if that is the goal.
