About Meiling

Meiling is a Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima) cultivar native to northern China and Korea. It was selected from seed imported by Peter Liu from south-central China, sharing a seedlot with 'Crane' and 'Nanking', and was introduced commercially by the USDA in 1949.
