About Moorland Heather
Moorland Heather is a Russian comfrey cultivar forming a large leafy clump with dark violet flowers. Beth Chatto Gardens records it as a chance seedling found at Moorland Cottage Plants in South Wales. Flowers appear in spring and early summer, with another flush possible after cutting the plant back in midsummer. The nursery recommends sun or partial shade. Garden Organic includes this cultivar in its National Plant Collection of comfrey.
