About Chambourcin
Chambourcin is a French-American hybrid wine grape. Genetic analysis traces it to a crossbreeding of 11369 Joannes Seyve and Plantet (5455 Seibel). It requires a long growing season and at least 3000 growing degree days to fully mature. Grown in Georgia's Areas 1 and 2, it produces good quality red wine and is the parent of the Regent hybrid grown in Germany and Switzerland.
