Darlene

Darlene is a pistillate muscadine cultivar released and patented by Ison's Nursery in 1988, from the pedigree 5-11-3 x 'Carlos', and named for Bill and Leola Ison's daughter Darlene Ison Evans. It produces a very large, pink grape similar in color to its 'Carlos' parent, though berry size varies quite a bit. Vine vigor is high and it ripens early to midseason, but yields have been inconsistent and low, and the cultivar is not recommended for commercial plantings.
