'Loomis' originated in Meridian, Mississippi, from a selection by N. Loomis and was selected out of the cross 'Creek' x US 15. It was later introduced by R. Lane and M. Owens of the University of Georgia. It is a female-flowered muscadine producing medium-large black fruit for fresh eating with excellent flavor.
