About Midsouth

Midsouth originated from a cross of DeGrasset x Galibert 255-5 made by M.H. Loomis at the USDA Horticultural Field Station in Meridian, Mississippi, in the late 1930s, and was released in the early 1980s alongside Miss Blanc and Miss Blue. It is a self-fertile hybrid bunch grape combining European and American grape species in its lineage. While it has been used to make wine, it is more often used for juice, jelly, or jam.
