Lucknow 49

Lucknow 49, also called Sardar, is a famous commercial guava cultivar from India that is widely planted across the subcontinent. It bears large, roundish white-fleshed fruit with smooth skin, sweet flesh, and a strong pleasant aroma, and it is known for heavy, dependable yields. Developed and popularized for the Indian market, it is used extensively both for fresh consumption and for processing into juice, jam, and other products. The tree is vigorous and productive, responding well to pruning and orchard management. Lucknow 49 is one of the most economically important guava selections in South Asia. Its reliability and high output make it a strong choice for subtropical permaculture and market orchards.
