yellow form

The yellow form of jocote is an uncommon color form of Spondias purpurea, native to tropical regions of the Americas from Mexico to Brazil. It has been identified by some botanists as a distinct forma, S. purpurea forma lutea, or even as a separate species, S. cirouella. It has been confused with the true yellow mombin, S. mombin (syn. S. lutea), though that is a different species.
