Citronella

Citronella is a strongly aromatic lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) selection with a fresh, relaxing citrus-mint scent reminiscent of citronella. It is a lush, bushy, upright-branching plant reaching roughly 90 to 120 cm tall and 60 to 90 cm wide, considerably larger than common lemon balm, with summer flowers that attract bees and butterflies. The leaves are used in herbal teas and to flavor fruit or fish dishes. It grows in full sun to part shade in fertile, moist soil, suits containers or beds, and is often planted near outdoor seating for its reputed mosquito-repellent aroma.
