About Hicks
Hicks Everbearing is a heritage everbearing red mulberry variety, thought to be lost but rediscovered in North Carolina by AJ Bullard. Described as a cross between M. alba and M. rubra, it is a native tree species with both edible and ornamental features, notable for its productivity and the length of its fruiting season. Fruit is traditionally used for jellies, jams, and wine, and the tree was historically planted as a hog feed tree.
