About Picholine
Picholine originated in southern France and has since spread worldwide, valued as a table olive, a cocktail olive, and for its delicate oil. It has medium cold hardiness and is not self-fertile, requiring pollinizers such as Ascolano, Carolea, Leccino, or Manzanillo. Fruit is medium-sized, weighing about 3 to 5 grams, from a tree with large, flat, light green leaves. Olives are harvested green for eating and black for oil, ripening in late November to December.
