About Minneola

Minneola is a tangelo, a hybrid of Duncan grapefruit and Dancy mandarin, developed by the USDA Horticultural Research Station in Orlando and released in 1931. Named after Minneola, Florida, it is sometimes marketed as Honeybell for its distinctive stem-end neck, which gives the fruit a bell-like shape. It is arguably the most well-known tangelo variety.
