About Gulfprince
Gulfprince is a seedling of Aztecgold x Oro A, selected at the University of Florida and released to growers in 1999, developed by the Agricultural Research Service, the University of Georgia, and the University of Florida. Thomas Beckman, a horticulturist at the ARS Fruit and Tree Nut Research Laboratory in Byron, Georgia, was part of the ARS-university team that developed it. It is a recommended peach variety ripening in late May with a chill requirement of low chill, under 600 hours. Gulfprince possesses several qualities that make it appealing to various market sectors.
