About Spalding
Spalding originated in the South and is grown as far afield as the Pacific Northwest and Florida. Introduced in 1982, it is recommended among the best pear varieties for south Georgia, and University of Georgia trials describe its fruit quality as high, ripening early, though the tree is subject to blight.
