About Ichi Ki Kei Jiro
Ichi Ki Kei Jiro is a non-astringent bud sport of Jiro that eats sweet and crisp even while firm, like an apple. It forms a comparatively small, semi-dwarf tree of about 8 to 10 feet that leafs out later than most cultivars, helping it escape spring frosts, and it is regarded as one of the hardier Asian persimmons. The medium-large, squarish-oblate orange fruit is seedless and high in sugar.
