About ICPH 8 (ICPH 82008)

ICPH 8 (ICPH 82008) is the world first commercial pigeonpea hybrid, developed by ICRISAT and recommended for India central zone in 1991. Vigorous and widely adapted, it matures in about 115 to 135 days and yields roughly 25 to 30 percent more than pure-line varieties in farmers fields while also being drought-tolerant. It was a landmark in proving hybrid pigeonpea.
