About La Estrella
La Estrella is a calabaza-type Cucurbita moschata cultivar bred by Dr. Don Maynard at the University of Florida for uniform fruit size and superior flesh color, and is a Rupp exclusive. In the northern United States it produces 10 lb fruit maturing in about 125 days; grown as a Florida winter crop it produces 6 lb fruit maturing in about 70 days.
