About High Scent
High Scent, sometimes sold as April in Paris, is a modern sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus) regarded as a benchmark for fragrance, with a very strong, sweet perfume. Its creamy-white flowers, about 4 cm across and edged with a delicate dark-violet picotee, are borne three to four per long stem, making them superb for cutting. A climbing annual reaching roughly 1.5 to 1.8 metres, it grows in humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Feed and deadhead regularly to keep it flowering.
