About Centennial

Centennial is a heirloom orange sweet potato introduced by Louisiana State University in 1960 to mark the state capital's centennial, and it became the leading American variety for decades before Beauregard. It produces medium, carrot-colored roots with copper skin and bright orange flesh that is sweet and moist when baked. Centennial is known for its wide adaptability, good storage life, and relatively early maturity, and it is often recommended for northern growers alongside Georgia Jet. Its tapered, uniform roots and dependable yields made it a market standard for generations.
