Sri Gemunu

Sri Gemunu is a high-yielding Ceylon or true cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) cultivar released by Sri Lanka Cinnamon Research Centre, prized for a strong, classic sweet-cinnamon bark rich in cinnamaldehyde at around 76 percent of the bark oil. A Type A flower type, it is recommended for planting alongside the Type B cultivar Sri Wijaya so the two cross-pollinate for good seed set. Grown for its aromatic inner bark, which is peeled and rolled into quills, it can yield up to about 600 kg per acre under good agricultural practices. A leading commercial choice for premium true cinnamon.
