About Ryudai Gold
Ryudai Gold is a Japanese turmeric cultivar associated with the University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, officially registered with Japans Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2012. Rather than agronomic yield, it is prized for its chemistry: unusually high concentrations of the three curcuminoids, curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin, together with high phenolic and flavonoid content. This gives it stronger antioxidant and antifungal activity than many other turmerics. Studied for anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and anti-diabetic effects, it is grown largely for functional-food and health-supplement use.
