About Long Pod
Long Pod is a Vicia faba (broad bean) cultivar, an old world bean that grows well in cool weather and has long been a favorite in Europe. Plants are upright and non-vining, reaching about 4 feet tall, with purple and white blossoms preceding large, glossy pods. Seeds are used for dried shell beans, fresh market, or freezing, and can also be shelled like lima beans when mature or eaten immature cooked in the pod.
