About Lula
Lula grew from a seed of 'Taft' planted in Miami, Florida, in 1915 by George Cellon, who named the fruit after his wife, Lula Cellon. It is a Guatemalan by West Indian hybrid race avocado with a Type A flower. The cultivar has a history of being one of the most important commercially grown avocados in Florida, formerly the leading commercial cultivar in the state.
