O'Rourke

O'Rourke is a common-type fig from the LSU Agricultural Center fig breeding program. The cross of 'Celeste' and 'C1' was made in 1956, with an individual plant selected by E.N. O'Rourke in 1960 and tested as L57-11-103; the program developed the cultivar in 2007. It produces a larger, earlier maturing fruit than 'Celeste' and adds diversity to recommended fig varieties, suited to home orchards, specimen planting, or containers.
