Lori is a mayhaw cultivar known for concentrated fruit ripening: while most mayhaw varieties ripen over a 20-day harvest period, Lori may have 80 percent of its fruit ripe at one time, simplifying a single harvest pass. Like other mayhaws, its small apple-like fruit is highly prized for making jelly.
