All Gold

All Gold is a striking golden-leaved lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), a form of the classic Mediterranean tea herb whose entire foliage is a bright yellow-gold rather than green. It develops its richest color in partial shade and can scorch in full sun, so it is best used to light up a shady border or herb bed. The leaves keep the true lemon scent and flavor of ordinary lemon balm, good for herbal teas and cooking. A clumping perennial, it is usually grown from cuttings or division, though it comes reasonably true from seed when isolated from other lemon balm.
