Fairchild is a compact, ornamental mango selected in the Panama Canal Zone in the early 1900s and a favorite of plant explorer David Fairchild. A likely Saigon-type by Indian hybrid, it offers rich, aromatic, fiberless flesh and fruits heavily even in humid conditions. Its tidy shape can be held to eight feet or less.
