Mandan

Mandan was released by the USDA in 2009 for all growing regions, from a cross of BW-1 and Osage. It is a pollen shed type 1 cultivar recommended for trial, averaging 49 nuts per pound and 57 percent kernel with a scab rating of 2 and a harvest date around September 21. It is conditionally recommended for Georgia and Alabama, and because data in the Southeast is still limited, only trial blocks should be planted.
