Magilla Vanilla

Magilla Vanilla is a lighter-leaved ornamental perilla (Perilla frutescens), a sport of Magilla with lime-green leaves marked by a broad cream wedge down the center. Compact and free-branching at only about 16 inches tall, it is grown strictly for foliage effect and not for culinary use. Because of its paler coloring it prefers some shade rather than full sun, in fertile, uniformly moist soil, and is propagated from cuttings. It makes a bright, mounding accent for beds and containers.
