About Red
The Red type of santol has leaflets growing to 12 inches (30 cm) long that are velvety beneath and turn red with age, and greenish or ivory flowers in panicles to 12 inches (30 cm) long. Its fruit has a thick rind, frequently to 1/2 inch (1.25 cm), with less pulp around the seeds and a sour taste; fruit fall from the tree when ripe.
