Butternut

Butternut is listed as a recommended winter squash variety for Georgia gardens. It has tan skin and orange flesh with a sweet, nutty taste, and shows resistance to squash vine borer, an advantage over many other squash types. Each plant can produce up to four fruits weighing up to about 4 lb (2 kg), and the flesh works in soups, stews, and baking.
